ok.... so i have been kicking around a couple different ideas for my PSI re coned 15 FI BL 1700-2krms... the box is going in my 04 impala and i need to be able to keep as much trunk space as possible.. as of right now the amp i will be using is 1400 rms (i hope to get something a bit larger real soon) the first box i was thinking of building was a wedge style sub up port to the passenger side using 3-4 inch aero ports box would be 3.25 cubes after all displacement all 3 ports open tuning would be 35.1hz with 2 ports open one blocked it would be 28.7hz.. i honestly do not know if thats a good design or not i was just gonna build it and see lol... but the more and more i think about it, i could just do a wall sub and port into car and with the wall i could get a much larger box (if needed?) with even more much valued trunk space compared to the wedge design. my concerns are... what it will sound like musically (I'm trying to achieve as much output as possible while still retaining good SQ) will it sound good on music? the box will be sealed completely from the trunk as far as the seat to trunk opening goes but will the 6x9s in the rear deck need to come out and holes be sealed? another question i have is how it will sound when the seats are folded up.. granted i would more then likely not be going full tilt unless the seats are down but we do use the car as a DD and the seats just can't be down all the time.. it will have about 1 cube of space between the box and seats could i hurt anything playing it that way? I'm basically trying to get as loud as possible on the TL but don't want the SQ to completely suck.. sorry for all the many questions but your help is much appreciated!! feel free to offer anything you think might be helpful as I'm learning everyday...
PS this is the port i picked up and as stated plan on plugging one port to drop tuning and i will probably play with inverting it just for fun to add displacement and change tuning again and again lol
