Default Need helping changing my box with aeros to slot port for sundown 18s

Hey wats up guys , i have a box that was made for three sundown zv3 15s. my internal volume after displacements wer between 9.83 to 10 cubes net. Im now going to run two sundown zv3 18s instead of the 15"s. i want to get my box volume down to about 9 cubes. I also used two 8" aero ports and was tuned to 36hz. i want to be tuned to 35hz with the 18s but now use slot ports. When punched in my numbers on torres box calculator using slot , my box volume went down tremendously, like 6.5 cubes net or something like like that, maybe i was doing it wrong and thats why i need help. i want about 120 square inches of port and to be tuned to 35hz with a slot port. I was thinking about maybe 17.5H, 7W for the outside dimensions. I dont no how long the port would have to be. I need to no wat each sub will get internally net with using slot ports now. my dimensions of the box are 41.5w, 20.5H, 28.5L. I will will taking the top plate off and doing a triple baffle for two speakers.

the reason it dropped so much is because you get alot more port area out of a 6" aero vs a 6 " slot its going to drop drastically.

yea just for refrence they are 8 inch aero ports. im just trying to think of how to rearange stuff in the box for this to work. i dont have another 500 to waste on a box so ima work with wat i have. one of thing im going to do is put some 45s in there to bring down the box volume to 4 to 4.5 instead of 4.9 per sub because i have way to much power. i just want the subs to see the all of the 4 to 4.5 cubes each. but because of were the sub will sit im afraid it will be to close to the aero ports, dont no if that matters or not. take a look at this pic and you will see wat i mean.

Yea, I would just change the baffle and add some 45's. Should drop it down enough.

I have tested that amp about a bazillion times. I know what it does clean, clipped, dirty, loaded, unloaded, wired down, low voltage, good voltage, after it hot, while it's cool, on caps, on batts, where it protects, what's thermal limits are and just about anything else anyone would care to know about it.

But thanks for chiming in. Your opinion is duly noted.

hey wats up, yea but the only thing im worried about is the two subs will be sitting in the back of the box , dont no if thats ok, if they sit in the back does that mean they still see the entire volume of the enclosure.

little heads up the more you shrink the box the higher your tunning frequency goes with the aeros.

i think i mite have a solution, a guy i met this year at sbn in daytona was running four sundown niteshade 12s on a ns1 in about 8.5 to 9 cubes net with one 8 aero port. i couldnt believe how air was coming out of that one port and how loud it was. well im thinking since im shrinking my box to 8 to 8.5 cubic ft net i can use only one 8 inch aero port. i think this mite work for me .

sounds like a great idea but i would check into how much sq in of port you need for the 2 18s and maybe do a single 10in aero

yea but when look on sundown website it dose not say anything. all it tells you is that they need to be 4 cubes each and there displacements. i mean roughly using the same size box as the guy i mentioned, i dont see why the one 8" would not work, and plus i cant find nobody on here thats makes 10" aero ports, i dont think derrick is making them yet.
