Default 4th order designs

so im thinking of walling my focus agian and was thinking of doing a 4th order with 4 type r 12s

sealded 6.1 cubes and ported 16.5
thats 2.7:1
tuned to 40 hz

sound ok they will be on a ab 200.1 at .5

or i do have a a ported box that i could seal the ports off its about 10 cubes
and just do 10 cubes for ported so it would be a 1:1 would that work out

ive worked on a few focus' and they have a good amount of room in them.

in a 4th, i would try 1.8 per sub sealed in a 1:3. should be able to fit it. i know a guy with this setup and it is ungodly. by far the single most impressive bandpass ive ever seen.

You don't need anywhere near that big of a sealed section. I would do 6 ft^3 total sealed. Make the ported chamber as big as you can. Tune to 45ish hz and you're golden.

^^^ This...On the right track here. The "make the ported chamber as big as you can" may sound funny, but it's definitely true. Try to get as big a ratio as you can, within reason. 6 sealed, 18 ported would be good, or go a little smaller on the sealed side, like 5 sealed, 15 ported, and like he said, start around 45-46hz tuning. If you read the huge thread on 4ths with over 600 posts, there is a lot of good info in there...
