Default Quasi 6th Order Bandpass port orientation...

Does it make a difference if the rear port is in the same axis as the front port, compared to the two ports being 90 deg out? Not much information out there regarding quasi (series) tuned bandpass enclosures...

Here's the 4th order I'm considering converting to a series tuned 6th order. Do you think a straight port (in red) in the same axis as the front port (bottom right of pic) would be ok, or should I angle the new port (in blue) instead?

What, exactly, do you not like? The straight port, the 90deg port, or the whole 4th to 6th conversion idea, or?

What's the total internal volume of the ported section? Gah, two ports at 180 from each other like that... I think it'll be a big flop to be honest. Cancellation too... Plus, because of woofer location I bet one port will pressurize and be more effective than the other. Then again, with a 6th order enclosures I suppose one port MUST pressurize of be more effective, not in q bad sense as the entire enclosure is built around the parameters at hand. Err, also, if you sealed the cutout and moved woofer location it'll still have the same problem I'd assume. I haven't the slightest as to what the beat location would be for the driver.
I can't wait for a guru to chime in, I'm interested in this concept now.

If it checks out on paper, remember that's the dynamics of this whole hobby crunch up paper and drain threes all day long with it in the ol' wastebasket.

I'm starting off at 40Hz for the rear, tuning is easily changed. I should have it reassembled tomorrow and will post an impedance sweep. I'm hoping this will compensate some for the high sealed resonance I was experiencing in the 4th. Am I way off base here?
