Building a box for my buddies shallow mount pioneer single 4ohm 10" sub today. Before he told me which model sub it was I already designed him a 1.5 cft enclosure with a 4" aero tuned wherever he wanted it. However looking it up, it's only 300 rms and most recommend a sealed box. Ive never built a sealed box for anything because ported has always sounds better to me. Then again I've never built a box for such a "small" sub. Should I follow my original plan or change it? This is going under the backseat of a 4 door f150 2010.
As of right now the box is lookin like 12hx24wx12d, the 4" aero firing to the side and the sub forward. I haven't even measured the space I'm working with to see if it fits but I'm hoping this should.
Too big? It's 1.2 cft after disp. If I keep the aero full length its roughly 34hz.
