Default Sub and port placement?!

I know a lot of people will say that trunk cars get the best output with subs firing into trunk, and port firing towards the back of the seats, but then how come so many people with big body vehicles (crown vic / town car / grand marquee, etc...) run there enclosures with sub up, port up? whats the reasoning for this?

Ive never heard of that. I thought most people got best results with sub and port firing to the rear of the vehicle unless its a front firing set up with seats that fold down and is sealed off

well i have heard that too, but that still doesnt answer the question why they do sub up port up in the crown vics and other similar cars.

Well i dont know. I have a 95 town car and i do sub and port firing to the rear. I had one guy with the same car tell me the best for him has been subs firing up with a false floor or something.

I did two 18's both sub and port firing up, its the only possible way i could do it. I didnt like it, both cuz the box wasnt big enough for two 18's and it rattled the trunk way more that way.

Two reasons:

1) So when they open the trunk everyone can see what they have
2) It rattles the trunk lid more.

Gotta have King Kong in the trunk, right?

I've never heard of port forward/subs back in that type of car. From my experience, subs/port back has been the best way of doing it.

hmm, guess this wasn't really a stupid question after all. i figured it was because it caused more trunk noise, as said.
