Default Solo x 18 in a single cab

Ok now that i got your attention, Im wanting to do a single solo x 18 in a single cab s10 in a blow through, trucks already cut im looking for some one familiar with blow throughs, My problem is solo x 18 is to tall so i know i will have to slant sub to get it in. then create a box inside a box and port it through to the cab so i dont loose pressure , is there a rule of thumb on how close the sub can be to the wall or a ratio of size for the sub air space and the box where it will be sealed to the truck. an idea ive been working on is a box designed simular as a jl audio ho box the port the width of the box unfolding acting as the walls of the enlosure braced internally , i know this will be big heavy and exspensive , but this is what i want cause i told it couldnt be done, just looking for some expertise in the subject

Sounds like fun. I have no experience w/ blow throughs C-Los, but I do have decent info on the X. With 4000, I would do my best to stick with about 7.5 cu. after displacement and give it plenty of port. Always be mindful of the X as even though the motor is a monster, the soft parts do not warrant putting much over 3500 on them daily. Keep the power clean and the sub from bottoming out and you will thoroughly enjoy this build.

LOL server lag. I apologize for calling you out. It sucks to not see a post and make a comment that makes you look foolish.

From the sound of it you want to try a standard ported box. So make the cutout as large as possible to not affect the sub or port in any way and mount the sub and port as close to the opening as possible without touching or chocking the sub or port.
And don't make the port the width of the box that will not work good. I would start with a vertical slot port and make it decently wide as you can always shrink the port.

Or you can do a 6th order and not worry about the cutout but give up your bed
