Hey guys, so I'm wanting to build my first ported box. I've always used sealed and want to try something new. I'll be using 2 skar vvx 10's and a skar 1500 amp. Vehicle is a extended cab fullsize chevy truck (show truck), no back seat so space is no concern. Wanting to use aero ports instead of slot ports (i like the looks) and I want to face the subs forwards. I mostly lisen to hard rock and metal but some dubstep and rap. I don't have a clue what hz to tune to or what size ports to use. Can anyone help me design a box please? Thanks in advance!
probably wont do any competing, don't listen to much rap mostly hard rock and metal. i was thinking higher tuning would give me more of and impact for the kick drum but i don't want to tune too high.
I was tuned to 38 for years and the subs were loudest in my vehicle at 42-48 which was wonderful for kicks. I listen to metal too and I'd suggest a bit lower honestly. Since I demo on rap quite a bit too, I'm putting my TRFs in 36 hz, but typically 38 nets great 40-50hz output, and allows for low end extension for bass guitar and even synthetic bass (which is in lots of rock/metal too btw)
