Default SubThump or Fox Acoustics? Dodge Ram Megacab advice needed.

2007 Dodge Ram Megacab, looking for a pair of 10s. (I don't think I need more than this, advise if I'm wrong).

JL Stealth is $1000+...no thanks. I do want to keep the subs behind the rear seats so that I can still fold them down (Makes a great diaper-changing table).

I've seen good reviews about both companies. Main differences I can see is that SubThump is forward-firing and has a spot for an amp to be mounted; the Fox is downward firing and has a lip built in so it can be used as a storage shelf. Any input on forward vs. down firing, or either of these two companies? Price is within $5 of each other. Anywhere else you suggest I look?

Fox Acoustics:
DODGE MEGA CAB 2-12" SEALED DOWNFIRE
6.5" mounting depth

SubThump:
06 & Up Dodge Ram MEGA CAB Dual box with Amp Space
6.75" mounting depth

Thank you.
- Dave

have someone on here build you a ported box for the specific driver you want. There are plenty of very capable people. It will get much louder than a sealed as well, unless you are going for sq, then I would say to stick with sealed.

I'm just looking for something for my driver truck, nothing too off-the-wall. I had spoken to some local shops (gave local business a chance first), but they want $500+ for an enclosure (I understand, kids gotta eat). Their other options were just ordering prebuilt boxes like these, and, well, I can do that myself without the mark-up.

Just want something that will do a decent job playing my Metallica, Taylor Swift, and Jay-Z.

I have first hand experiences with fox box's and just this saturday learned a little more.Joe fox is from a little town south of me called houma,la.He's been building box's for a long time and took it up a notch bye buying a CNC machine to cut the box's out. They are not your normal prefab box's and sound way better than a JL stealth box.

My buddy bought a jl stealth box (2-10w3's) from me along with a jl 750/1.It sounded really good for a few months until the box started making noises. The jl box was made to go under the rear seat of his 08 4 door silveraldo and looked good.Well we went to onsite audio here in baton rouge,la and talked to the owner larry about the issue.Larry suggested a fox box and briefed me on the way it was made.We went strait home and swap box's and it was a huge improvement.I am now a fox box fan after this.

Subthump is also a good quality prefabbed box,but I've never dealt with steve only read about how good they are.
