Default using areo ports?

So I've been researching areo ports and wanted to build a box at some point using them, but the main question I have is how do you go about having the ports sticking out? Most places just say have the whole port inside the box, and I want them sticking out. Would this be the same as just having a slotted port that sticks out?

Yes. It will be louder that way, too.

Why do you want them sticking out? Do you want the whole thing sticking out or part of it? I usually just keep the whole port inside for ease of mounting and it's easier to fit. If you want part of it sticking out then you'll have to make rings to go around the port until your desired length. If you want it 100% external then just flip the mounting flare and screw it in the same way you would if its internal.

Hope that helps.

I think that would depend on the application. Mainly just because your enlarging the internal space.

Internal ports displace cubic feet

External don't

Simple as that

It will just require changing your box measurements to not account for port displacement

Well I'm not worries as far as the difficulty of installing a areoport partly inside, just didn't know what difference it made aside from displacment, or if tuning was different, And whether or not there were major cons to having it protruding out, may it be partly or entirly

the thing with aero ports is as previously said, you can use them to decrease internal air space with the sacrifice of having it external, which is proven to work in spl builds, ie: crx's which have the external. but with the aero ports on the internal, you need a bigger box to get the proper airspace. the aero ports on internal, i'm not to sure, but seem to be more for daily? but i think they look better to the eye on the inside then the outside, but i go by my ear more than my eyes.

If your limited on space then good luck fitting them external. They take up very little space, just keep them internal.
