Default box for sa12? need advice please

i am trying to build 2 boxes for 2 sundown sa12s. the boxes will be going into a 2001 silverado extended cab, one behind each seat. here are my questions:

1) does this look right to you guys as far as cuft and tuning for the subs? i listen to lots of decaf and other rap music.

2) how would i adjust the cuts for sub and port facing up? is it as simple as building as pictured then turning the box? or is it an entirely different process?

For the love of God, DO NOT USE RE's box calculator.

There's a bunch of free box designs listed in this sub forum. It says Free Box Designs. Find one about 1.5 to 1.75 cu/ft tuned to whatever you'd like, I suggest 33 or 35 hz. Build it, take pictures and share with the class.

yeah its 1.5 lol... that seamed small to me also but even if i open it up even half an inch, it takes the tuning way up, close to 40 i think it was... im going to give the torres another shot, that ones good right?

when you make more port area the length inside the box needs to be longer
then that will take up more internal volume and ull have to make the gross measurements bigger
torres works good yes but i find it hard as hell to understand

Don't go sealed. Neither you or your sub will like it. It'd ne worth it to pay RAM Designs or Surreal the few bucks to design an enclosure specifically to your needs.
