Default what table saw blade to get?

I just recently aquired a table saw and been using it.... makes building so much easier and fun.

But its time to replace the blade.

Any suggestions on what to get.

I was thinking something with 40 or 60 teeth and the anti kick back thing.

Some are quite pricey...

mine is 10"

the only one i use is the 80 tooth Diablo. it cuts everything clean including plexi, goes through like a hot knife in butter. only get a 60 tooth or less is you are just ripping long cuts of MDF. if you plan on cutting multi-layer birch or want a good clean finish, you should be getting more than 60 tooth.

I have had good luck cutting mdf with cheaper carbide tipped blades, but when cutting birch ply, they warp and go dull pretty quickly.

love it, will not get anything else. it just goes though the wood so easy and makes the cut so smooth with no burn marks or anything.

Really.. interesting.
MDF will be what i am using mostly. willing to accept the weight issue now instead of fighting the grain and working with MDF is so much easier later on with sanding and painting.

Its a dado blade, yep i use them all the time to dado and rabbet. They work great if you dont wanna have to move the fence 1/8" to make the same cut.

I second Diablo. As far as Dado's your looking at probably $60-$80 for a decent entry level set.

I think it's probably because that sub is not moving enough to allow it to cool.. Id turn the gain up a bit so it moves more for cooling reasons.. That's why it's hard on subs to be underpowered..
