Default Any changes for my 18" enclosure?

Box is for a DD 9518 on about 2000-2500 watts. Going in the back of a ford explorer.

The specs are exactly as the DD website suggests, so im just wondering if anyone knows of any slight changes or tweaks to make it a little better. Also should I go with DDs suggestion of Sub back/port back or make mine sub up/port back?

Kind of noob question but if I changed the design to be sub facing up, do the inner port walls need to be relocated or redirectioned? Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for your help starting build tomorrow hopefully.

EDIT:

OK well I have a few more questions.

Having someone else build it instead, I gave him the exact link of the DD box designs, except I told him to put the sub on top, double baffle, and 45's on the inside. He told me if I wanted the Sub on top he would have to 'modify' the inside port wall or something. This scared me because I think he was trying to center the subwoofer cut out or something?

The best way would be to leave the sub towards the top left side of the box correct?

Also if I take that design and add 45s on the inside, do I have to recalculate the NET volume because that would take away some internal airspace right? Thus changing my tuning, etc. Or does that not really matter?

Sorry for the noob questions

subs up port back or subs and port up work best in suv's

and no looks like fromt he picture u can just put the sub hole on top itll clear the port n such
make sure u brace the box and do double baffle to hold that woofer

really? thats why 98% of people do it this way
ive seen and heard 3 sub and port back setups and they were total fail and it wasnt the box specs etc..strictly orientation of the enclosure

he literally removed a baffle and made sub on top and gained around 2 db
i only speak from my personal experience and believe me ive made over 50 suv boxes

myth my ass!

it's not quite as simple as it sounds but sub up port back loads the sound into the SUV more than just about any other way you can arrange it.

well from the enclosures ive built for customers
sub and port back suckd badly compared to subs up port back config
all the loud suv's i see either on this forum or whatever are sub up port back
like taylorpro with the 4 sa 12s 46panel when he had the 4 18s or the dude with i think 8 sa15s that i think dj did...
and the list goes on and on and on and on with sub up port back config
