Default anyone ever do a 4th order PR?

some people will try to call it a 6th, but i figure depends on what part of the 4th you PR

my last enclosure was for a single 15"... sealed part was 2 cu and ported part 3.6 cu tuned to 43 hz... lots of bandwidth with it.. 25 to about 53hz..

one of my new projects i figure same sub but down to 1.8 cu sealed and 3 cu in the "ported" area that will house 2 x 12" PR's...

this will allow me to adjust tuning on the field to allow me to compete in idbl and bassboxing, i figure.. also it will save me from using lengthy aero ports ..

anyone try something similar before?

a 4th order with PR is as they call it 'a series tuned 6th order'

should work fine but I'd just use a port instead of the passive radiator.

dont see how it is considered a 6th...sealed rear chamber and front chamber PR'd...

if the sealed rear chamber was ported or PR'd, it would be a 6th

i need to spare some room for more batts and amps so if i can get away with saving some space along with no port noise, adjustable tuning, etc..why not? but all in theory or ?

it would be a 4th. never seen it done though.

so you would have a normal 4th, but instead of the port you have a pr.

I say you should try it. Sounds cool and different.

I don't read. I assumed the PR was in the rear chamber firing into the front chamber.

yeah, I talked about this on 10/20/12 for a different reason.
using passive radiators to keep the magic smoke out of your car.

You wouldnt happen to have the design of your 15" 4th order would you? Id love to know what sub and what it looks like. I have a thread in here about a crossfire in a 4th I'd like to try.

This idea you have^^^^ seems really sick if it works

Finally finished the design as well as other people's designs today...

Main driver = 15" GiGLZ - 6k Daily Subwoofer
PRs = 2 x 12" PSI PRs

Was going to do the PRs side by side, but it would increase my PR chamber by quite a bit..

1.8 cu ft sealed
3.45 cu ft "ported"/PR chamber --> I could not go any smaller or wont be able to install/remove the main driver out of "viewing" window made of 1" thick lexan

Please leave any feedback..
