Default 2 subs. 2 boxes. one inverted. sounds like crap

ok so I have a performance teknique icbm 5912 and a JL 12w3v3-4

put the jl in a 1.0 ported and the PT in the 1.75 ported from the JL box (PT sounds like pure crap in the 1.0 box)

the PT is inverted and the JL is not.

it sounds like CRAP for some reason.

I noticed one sub will flex if I push the other down (why does this happen even though the boxes are not connected?)

Would it make any difference if I made a box for both of them that shared the same air space?

I plan to get a second 12w3 so this box would be for the future sub and not for the PT sub.

Say what you will, the PT sub cost me about $60 and hits harder than the JL and has taken a lot of abuse.

Did you reverse the polarity on the inverted sub?

unplug the jl and just run the PT and see how it sounds, also 1 cube ported for a 12?

I don't know how to do that.

They sound fine by themselves.

the 1.0 with the JL just sounds a bit muffled on the lows is all

this was just an experiment while I decide what route I want to go

Pick one sub, put it in a nice box built to specs and run that. Dont run 2 mismatched subs exspecially in 2 completely differant box's. Thats just nonsense!

To reverse the polarity just flip the speaker wire over on the inverted sub

If your subs are wired in series, when you push down on one, the other should push out. It is caused by something called back EMF. However, that should be the least of your worries at this point.
