Default HDC3 10x2

I was wondering if 4 cubes gross is enough for a pair of HDC3 10s on a AQ 2200d? If so how low can you tune these and still get good results. It is going to be a daily driver install.

the long port from tuning low will eat up alot of your net space

So what would be the lowest I could tune and still stay in the required net airspace. I know AQ says no less than 2.5 net for a pair?

well i was hoping my post would spark someone else to give a better response....

really, im not sure what hdc's like, as afar as tuning/net goes

usually times like this, i do it with a calculator and pen and paper, i do know that fs will give you a good idea of what your tuning should be

The FS on the 10 is 41 hz. Im working on a sub forward port forward enclosure. The dimensions I have to work with is 39.25 wide x 12.75 height x 18 deep. This is in a 06 chrysler 300 and lets me still open the door to the spare tire well.

I had the old style hdc3 10's. And I can tell you that you don't want to put them in less than 3cf. Tune between 36-38hz and you'll be happy. You don't have to have a ton of port. 40 in^2 port 18" long would get you where you want to be tuning wise and should still live enough room for 3cf gross volume. Don't do less than 40 in^2 though. That would be the minimum I'd recommend.

I've attached a quick box put together on RE Audio's site. There's 45 in^2 of port and should end up around 36-37hz.

39.25 wide x 12.75 height x 18 deep. this would give you 5.21 cubes

the port that brandon mentioned is .5 cubes, your sub is around .2 at the most

Exactly. There's enough room. Not much to spare, but there's room.
