Default HDC3 10 Box size.

Im getting ready to build and enclosure for my car for a pair hdc3 10s. The dimensions I have to work with is 33" wide x 15" height x 18" deep. That should yield about 5.15 gross. With these dimensions is it to large of an enclosure for a pair of the hdc3 10s powered by an Atomic AT-3000.1D. It is a subs forward port forward sealed off from the trunk in a chryser 300. Thanks for the help.

You certainly wouldnt want to use all the space you have unless you know exactly what you are doing. You havnt really given enough information to provide any further input.

Here is a box i came up with sketching it out on paper.. It seems since I want to tune low at 32 hrtz I loose alot of volume due to a port length of 27.5" and width of 3.5. I came out in the end with 2.85 cubes net after sub and port displacement tuned to 32 hrtz with 47.5 square inches of port. If this idea doesn't seem right please point me in the right direction. Thanks.

having the port opening right next to the cone is going to cause that sub to unload, try a normal L port or do a T in the center( center port loads evenly)

With doing an l port would it affect the last subs loading surface since it would be behind one sub and not the other? How would I divide the port evenly if I put it in the center.

the L port usually is not an issue unless your largly over powering the subs

and the port in the center run it straight to the back then split it to a T say a 3" port in the center and then have the back sections 1.5" from the back wall.

your fine to run the normal L port, 1500 ish each is nothing crazy for the hdc's you might not even get your 2ohm rating if your wired to 1ohm

Yeah Im hoping not to have to much box rise. It I have to much i might look into reconing these to run at .5 ohm or pick up the second atomic 3k and strapping them at .5 each.
