Arrow Noob Box Q's...

This is my first attempt at building a box so go easy...

I'm going to be putting 3 JL 10w6 subs in a single box but I'm not sure if I should make it sealed or ported.

Can anyone help me decide which way to go?

I plan to put this in a daily driver & I listen to everything music wize...

I was looking at the "free design sticky" and wanted to know if this box would be best suited for my subs?
Would the port be big enough?
http://gs171.photobucket.com/groups/...z56sqin6nx.png

Here's the specs for my subs, look at the 10w6 recommendations http://mobile.jlaudio.com/pdfs/8-12W6_BDS.pdf, if I have to multiply by 3 wouldn't that be a monster of a box?

I don't know if I am doing something wrong but they recommend a box 51" x 36" x 41.25" with a 9" x 55.8" port ? ? ? does that sound right

Also... should these share a common chamber or should I separate the chambers?

Is the "Fs" (23.2Hz) what the box should be tuned at?

Like I said I know nothing about box building and I'm reading and trying to learn... I'd like to keep my mistakes minimal...

Thx in advance

I'd tune to like 30-32hz for them. What kind of ride is it going into? How much power you giving them? All you need is a box 3cu after displacements for the 3 10W6's ported, or 1.875cu sealed.....

What are your MAX dimensions to play with? Do you want to stick with round ports or go slotted? I can design you something. Unless Spy has something already.... don't want to be stepping on any ones feet.

The dimensions you've listed makes a box that's over 39cubes... WOW. Little large for 3 10's IMO.

Give this a try, it should help.

ExtreameChevman's box looks like it would do the job! You could extend the port another couple inches at the back to get a little lower tuning.

it appears you multiplied each side 3 times,

If box requires 17x12x13.75 for each speaker, let say...As an example

keep the box 17 deep 12 tall then the 13.75 you multiply by 3 so end result would be a box...

17 x 12 x14.25 >>>edit...14.25 needs to change to 41.25 my bad

since you have 3 subs you multiply by 3, if you had 4 subs you multiply by 4 and so on..

Think you mean 17x12x41.25" not 14.25.
