Question Side firing port

So in my desire for a certain sound this is my next step in trying to find it lol.

Side firing port (driver side) looks to be enough port area and tuning is decent just not sure how this style box is going to sound in my hatch, guess I will find out when I build it. Box is shown with double baffle, and 3 1&1/4" pine dowel braces, I did NOT sketchup the 45 in the back but it will be there.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Oh and this leaves around 5-6" of space on the port side of open space.

I have the same setup in my Edge. Sounds great. Sounds better with port facing passenger side, but it depends on the vehicle.

I had great luck doing side firing in my truck. Leave enough room for the port and I would say you should have good luck.

5-6" of open space from the port wall to the side of the car, and this is for 12s if I didn't mention it.

Port to passenger side would probably be louder to your ears, but since it is symmetrical I'd play around with it. I used to flip mine around between comps and daily lol.

I'm sure you will enjoy the new woofer/port orientation. Will this be woofers firing up or rear? Will or is the loading area for the port symmetrical across the entire width or depth depending on how you plan to lay it out? Lol

This is two 12" drivers on 2.5kW? Equipment from your sig I gather?

Continued!

The next few pics show the bracing test fitting, I may change it around a little before doing it for good, will definitely be putting the second baffle on and cutting sub holes before doing them final for sure.

More tomorrow!

I couldn't just stop for the day so I got the back on and the 2nd baffle.

Nothing like roughly 100lbs of weight to help hold her down!
