Default 2003 Escalade, 2 SA-15's, help with dimensions and box arrangement

I am trying to figure out how to build this box, this is my first SUV and don't know exactly what to go for. how many cubic feet should I be shooting for is 7 enough? Also what should I tune to to get real low and actually move some air. How should I arrange the subs upwards firing? And where should the port be facing? would it be okay to actually mount my amp on the box? And lastly are there any free cut sheets out there for a box like this and this truck?

I haven't tried many boxes in my Tahoe but my last 15 box was around 12 cubes tuned to like 30hz. It got fairly loud but I don't compete so I can't give you any db figures. The subs were mounted facing up and the port was facing the back of the truck. As for size check the manufacturers recommended air space that will give you a good starting point since you're new to building boxes. Like I said I'm haven't tried a wide range of boxes but I have read somewhere that these style trucks like tuning around the 32-34hz range. I just built an enclosure for 1 of my BL 18s that's around 8.5 cubes net tuned to 31 Hz and Im highly impressed. I even dropped my amp to .5 ohms and really got some great output. If you have the Torres calculator or even the android app you can get on YouTube and search for some vids of different setups & see what designs and tuning ppl are using that you like and the rest will come down to experimenting.

Will I lose/gain anything facing the subs to the rear as well as the port to the rear? That is how I would like to arrange it if possible that way I can, in a pinch, have a 5th passenger sit on the sub box. Also my dog wont jump up there and put a hole in the speaker.

sub up port back is loudest, you can get away with sub back port back its just not as loud.
Recommended Box Specs (Ported): 3.5ft^3 (Tune to 35Hz, Yields F3 of 28Hz) each.

I have 2 sa 15s in my grand cherokee in a box that's 40" W x 24" D x 18" T and after displacemnt and everything it's right about 7cf. It's subs up port back with two 6" areo ports that are 10" long tuned to 35hrtz.

An I have had 3 different amps mounted onto the back of my box a Skar 1500, a dc 2k, and my crescendo 3kwp an haven't had any problems if this helps you any.
