Default 3 cubes, ported, 25-28hz, single 12" VVME RD-12 3/4" MDF

What would be a nice design for this sub in a 2010 HHR?

I don't need anything fancy. Was thinking just a sub up/port up design, 3 cubes tuned to 25-28 hz for the lows (all I play is decaf basically)

I have 39" w, 13" H, 27" L to work with.

Back of sub mount to end of magnet is a little under 6"

I also want to do a recessed mount or w/e but I'm sure I just need to glue and screw in a ring behind the baffle which won't be too hard at all?

Think 3 cubes is too much for the RD-12? It's suffering in the 1.75 32hz box. Maybe 2.5 or 2.75?

try a transmission line if you want low end reinforcement.

Will 39" be enough for the longest part?

Think I'm just gonna do a basic sub/port back ported box...this will be the first attempt so don't want to get too technical....

Any links to box calculators? I mean preferred ones if they are better than what I can find myself?

Ok got this.

How solid is this design? Seems super easy with only one piece for the port.

2.999 cubes, 25.8ish tuning

3cf seems on the large side for a single 12
What rd sub is it?
How much power?
I wouldn't tune lower than 32hz. Set your ssf for around 25-28 and let her rock!
Either way decaf doesn't go lower then 24hz iirc so you would be tuning to a frequency you would rarely play

I wouldn't trust the RE calc..every time I've used it, it's been wrong

Youre right on the box size. They need huge boxes to sound musical. Id do 3 cubes at 30 anything under is kind of pointless for that sub.
