Default reuse enclosure?

i currently have 2 12" Zv3 in a birch enclosure that is 40"Wx25.5"Lx16.25H and the port is 6"Wx32.5"Lx14.75"H . 7.89 gross/ 5.65 net/ 88.5" port/ 15.66 per

do you think if i remove the top and put a new layer i can use the same enclosure for 2 dc level4 15 m1 subs? i know dc recommends 3.25 cubes per sub and i have less than that.

this is in my '03 santa fe and i would have them wired to 2 ohms on my xta-5000d

here are pics of it as it is.i removed the .75" from the dimensions i posted because the top is double.

i have 0 funds. my disability was terminated and i am still in the process of getting social security. that is why i was wondering if it would work. if it will i'll do it and maybe sell the Zv3 subs. if not i'll just sell the level 4 subs.

if you're just making the baffle then why not just try it out. If it doesn't work then just put old baffle back on and sell the 4's

because the old baffle will be no good anymore. i'd be cutting it off with a circular saw.

It can be done. I've cut enclosures in 1/2 before to utilize one sub....then used the scrap wood to fill in areas needed and bondo where beeded. I got pics to prove this. But, can weaken the wood overtime, because of so many screwed holes/nails. But if wood glue is used, I'd say you might be good.

you might get away with it because it's a common chamber, it will play peaky more then likely though.
edit: it's actually pretty close to what a generic design for 2 subs that do well at 3.25ft each would like in a common chamber design.
