Default Help with Sundown SA 10's

I bought two SA10's from SSA a couple of weeks ago. I have them in the box I had custom built for my RE SE-X subs. The box specs are 32w 16h 16d. After port displacement the box comes out to 2.9 cuft and the port is tuned to 34hz. I sealed off my trunk and fired the box forward before the SA subs came in but did not test out the RE subs to see how the sealed off trunk would affect the sound. The sundown SA10's don't seem to have as much authority as the re subs did on the lows or the sound quality I was expecting when sealed from the trunk(sounded better with the res firing rearward. The two things I can think this would be cause by are either the fact that they are now sealed from the trunk firing in the cabin and the lows are not as prominent with this style setup, or being the box has too much airspace for the sundowns they are hitting the lows like they should. I guess the best approach would be to add some 2x4's in the box for bracing to consume some of the airspace if you think this is the cause. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also the subs are on a MB Quart Onyx 2000rms amp with the gain turned back a bit. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Below are pics of the exact box specs and my setup:

So you never were able to test the RE's once you sealed it off? Maybe go back to the way you had it and see how it sounds. If it still doesn't help, then shrink box volume.

i dont like REs box calculator , when I figure that on mine it comes out tuned to 47.64hz which is why u have no authority . mine says 20 L x 2 W x 14.5 H tunes it to 33 in that box and you would def like that alot better youd smash the lows . but also i dont claim to be a box builder or anything its just what i use and its worked for me so take it for what it is maybe someone else will chime in

Yeea seems the tuning is pretty high 45+ hz
You need a 2 cu ft box after all displacements tuned to 33 or something along those lines. Sa 10s like small boxes..

MAx dimensions if I do end up having to build one would need to be 32w 16h and however deep need be for optimal performance for the sundown sa10's. I want to be able to use the same trim panels to seal off the trunk. And I want low tuning at least 34hz

I'm no box pro but I got 3cu 35hz, 14.25 sq.in per in torres so that shouldn't be an issue. Just keep box firing to the rear. Problem solved.

How much play time do the subs have on them now? Everytime I get new subs I always think I lost lowend output because the subs havent had enough time to break in, it can take up to a month of everyday playing for the subs to be fully broken in
