Ok, i built a 9.2 cuft box for my 4 12" jl w1v2's... i am wanting to use 4" ports, but i am lost on how to figure how many ports i need to get close to my "requires sq of port". I am looking to get the box ported to 35hz.
According to tthis site a 4" port has 12.566 sq. in. of area. That's a bit less than the recommended 16 sq. in. port per cubic foot but if you use aero's that'll make up for the lack in size. You'd need around one 4" aero per cu ft of displacement so 9 ports.
holy crap bat man... thats what i was reading. but, i wanting to make 100% before i made a boo-boo. but thats alot of ports. wouldnt t be better off to just build a square port? considering that will save me a ton of money. lol
If you go with 6" aeros you can drop it to four ports.
Running four 6" Aero's would make each Aeroport 23" long, thats a lot of space taken up inside the box for those ports. Why not just run four 4" Aero's, they'd only need to be 10.09" long. This is going off your 9.2 cu ft, not sure if this included your sub and bracing displacements or not.
