Default Enough port area?

Ok so this box will be 4.2 cubes tuned to 31hz. Im not familiar with aeros. I want to use one 6inch. Is 6.71 per enough? 28.26 cubic in?

I would go with a single 8in port. The 6in wont be enough.

I dont think an 8 will work. I would have to be retarded long to get the tuning I want. But anyway its already been confirmed that it will be fine. Thanks. I guess the rule of thumb on aeros is 6 to 9 per

21 inches. I can go as big as 24d, 15 h and 35w

easily done...your prbably gonna want to go shorter on your width tho...u can keep the port inside the box...you only need 13" of port to tune down to 32hz...so figure 13" plus 3-6" away from back wall plus your mdf...plenty of space

Trust me, that rule of thumb is not BS. Every box I've built with 6-9" per cube has worked well and was very musical. Obviously for Spl purposes I would choose an 8" aero. But that's not his only intention with this setup.

that "rule of thumb" works, but is usually overkill, motor strength, input power, and xmax are a better determining factor. With that rule you cant go wrong usually.

I just hate to see where some poor guy has like 500w on a couple 12s with 7mm xmax and a 4 cube box and people are telling him he has to shove a 8" port into it lol, when a couple 3s would probably be ok

experience also comes into play really, you will just be like yea that looks good, but too much never hurts
