Default Port question

I'm wondering if I can get away with configuring my port this way, so it's a 9" x 6" slot port, and gives me 11.89 sq inches of port area per cube. But anyways, my port needs to be 20" long, my box depth is 23" deep, and I'm wondering if I can just do a straight port (no bends) and have a 3" space between the rear of my box and the port, or do I need to make the port bend, so that it would be 18" deep, and have a 2" bend downwards.

I thought I read that I need as much space between my port and a wall of the box Atleast the width of the port, or is that only for aeros?

You should probably make it 17" long to keep it a port's width away from the back wall. With the end correction, it should be pretty close to your tune anyway.

If I have to make a 2-3" bend like that... I don't even bother.

So you say just go 17" long and leave it at that, or go 17 and make the 3" bend??
(Meant 17" before ha not 18")

17 inches deep to leave distance from the back wall, you can do an L port and add get your 23 inches... i dont quite remember the rule for that though, but i dont think its straight forward where your L would just be 6 inches.

I wouldn't bother with the bend when it's less than half of the width. ie off my port is 10 wide I won't make the bend unless it's 5" our more in additional length..

How much do you thnk that'll raise my tuning by? 20.5" long tunes me and 29.71hz, but with the bend I was gonna put a kerfed piece of MDF on the back 90 degree angle of the bend to help air flow. But 17" would be about like 33-32hz(ish)??

Use the same calculator you did, but also take into account, by shortening the port you also gain box volume.
