Default JL W3 18's 4th order

One of my buddies made me a really good offer on some JL W3 18s and I wanna put them in a 4th order. not really sure on the specs of this woofer because it was discontinued.

basically i just need to know what the optimal sealed/ported ratio would be.. im assuming 3:1.

basically im afraid of making the sealed too big. what would be good for the sealed part? on winisd it says 6 cubic feet sealed and 18 cubic feet ported will do decently well. any ideas guys? i just dont wanna give too much space and overcome the ability of these woofers.

if you don't know the specs... how can you saw winisd says it will do well?

http://mediacdn.jlaudio.com/media/mf...pdf?1317790193

btw;
6 cu ft rear and 10 cu ft front @ 46hz would make a very nice sounding enclosure.

24" x 6" port 7" long
OR
(6) 4" ports 6.5" long

the woofer is pre programmed into winisd... i just dont know the recommended enclosure sizes and stuff and im not sure if 6 cubes sealed will be pushing the limit

6 cu ft sealed for two is perfect.

don't forget they are only rated for 500watts each.

also, they deserve something better than an Audiopoop amp.

Don't think, check, with a dmm. I used to own a pair of 15W3's and they got down and pretty loud. lol...the quality of the subs doesn't mean they will be fine. You could end up wiring them wrong.

they come in d2 and d4 and they do get low...650 will be fine cause you are going sealed..imo i think a 2:1 ratio will work better and they like small sealed enclosures..
