Default Back again. Port size to port correction?

Hoping korey will chime in here, but anyways, So as you know, I posted lots a q's about diff box designs etc. but today we started building my buddies box (as seen below) and his port is 9.75" tall and 12" wide, I enter in 26" for the length, and I get 15.5" for the physical length, there is an 10.5 inch difference between the port length and physical port length, is that due to the shape of the port? It has 1 common wall.

(Yes pen and paper is best, but I'm not to that level yet)

Gives me 8 cubes after displacement, 14.63 per cubic foot and tuning of 31.47hz I had very good luck with my sp4 box using the physical length, along with my dads type r box, but the end corrections weren't this big, is 15.5" the right length? Cause it says the port does bend also.

Thank you in advance.

Do you have to bend the port? Length should be the same unless you are shooting for a cubic foot displacement of port. 14.6sq in per cube of box then length of port needed for the tune desired.

Little lost here, I guess I'm just wondering if since the port is so wide, if that is why there is an 10.5" difference in the port length and physical port length, if so, is the 15.5 correct

Is it just me or does no one no what you are asking exactly... Please simply the question.

what do you mean port length and physical port length? Why are you getting two different numbers? What calculator are you using?

i think hes trying to fig out the port displacement and tuning numbers vs displacement which changes box volume...so hes looking for how he should compensate ahead... i personally just build the box size after the port displacement

atleast i think thats whats going on, thats y i asked box volume/tuning and ill just give him port length
