Default Box Experts. Whats this tuned to?

Trying to design a box for 2 12s. I want the port in the middle but Im not sure how that affects tuning when multiple turns are involved.

Overall the box is 32w x 16h x 20d. Port is 3" wide. Sub displacement is about .3. Im aiming for mid 30s in tuning. I was looking to get about 24" of port length.

So the question is, when the port splits in two do you add both lengths on to the middle or do both sides act as one? ie: Its 16" down the middle then branches off 4" on each side. Is that 20" of port length or 24"?

So just wondering, are the "side ports" additive, or is it still considered a single length?

Not 100% sure man, Im not a box guy to be honest but i believe they are just additive, could be wrong tho. if its all one length then you would be looking more around 34-35 is my guess. hope someone will correct me on this if I am wrong.

Awesome thats what I needed to know. It really wouldnt have made much of a difference in this box either way, but it will be good for future designs

Its only 20 in length the splits only add half of its length. So its 16 long with 4 inch on each side so if only 20 also make sure the splits aew only half initial diameter

I have zero problems with people having a shop or other enthusiast do their build. But it's a little disrespectful they take credit for it and/or don't correct people when they assume the owner did the work. Happens all the time.

if the port is 3'' wide you need to have 1.5'' wide after the split, as others have said.

you indeed have the 24" port length you were shooting for.

Lol. Thanks for the input guys. I guess I'll wait to build this until I get a few more opinions. Seems everyone has a slightly different view :what:
