Default Box advice

Working in trunk. Max space is 54x17x24. Bat,alt, wiring is very good. Currently sundown 3500 on 2 15mtx 9500. Question is what will be better, build ported box to 7 8 cubes or if you have better number, or get 2 more 15s and make sealed box for the 4 15s. I have people telling me more cone area then people sayin the 2 ported will beat way louder than 4 sealed. Probably getting zv4s soon so questions would need to be directed towards those also. Given my dimensions I am working with, could someone please advise me on my best solution. Thanks a lot.

4 15's is to much for a trunk car unless facing into the cabin sealing them. You will have rattle. Best setup for trunk cars, at least in my case is to port them at 30hz facing the back of the trunk. Its better to put it as close to the trunk as possible which also leave room behind the box to allow air flow into the car.

Im doing some experimenting myself. Im sealing it off from the trunk facing into the cabin and going to tune it lower around 28hz. When you turn your box facing into the car, instead of being tuned at 28hz it will jump up to 34hz or so.

Ported box in the trunk is best for me too... running rear firing 12's port at front of drivers side and tuned to 31hz... I think Todd Dupler had 2 15's in a 7 cube dual round ported box in his trunk tuned to 33-34. It wasn't bad but when that setup got transfered to a jeep Cherokee it sounded way better
