Default Box Shape

Dose the shape of a box make a difference in output? I need to get more CU and was wondering if I made side pockets if it would make it sound different or poorer?

for the most part, volume is volume.

but it depends on the vehicle and subs as to weather it's worth doing the extra work.

It's was recommended to do 7cu for the pair. Only way to get 7 is build it this way it's in a wagon. This is firing it up at the roof with a slight angle facing forward. Our maybe I should just wall it

wagons work better firing rearward. {way better}

in fact, sealed firing back with 4"-6" clearance between the subs and the hatch/gate would be destructively louder than ported firing up. {if the subs can 'do' sealed}

---------------------

put simply, a sealed prefab firing back will 'smoke' the custom ported box firing up.

They do not recommend sealed (atomic apx12's). to do it firing rearward would I could only get about 5 cu'. What do you think about a wall with the speakers and port above the rear seat sealed off from the back?

Are you saying 7 cubes net or 7 cubes gross. 7 cubes net for the APX 12s is to large. I would shoot for 2.5 cubes net per sub after all displacements. I wouldn't recommend the APX's for a sealed application.
