Default i know NOTHING about 4th orders

so my friend has a 99 tahoe and hes putting in his 2 15" rockford p3's he wants to put in there on 1500w...he wants to do a 4th order in the cargo area but i think he should just do a standard ported box...how do i make an educated guess if these would be better in a 4th or a big ported box??

I'm no guru with 4ths but generally speaking unless your doing a bpillar wall a standard sub up port back setup will be louder.

i told him i would just build him a good ported box but he wants to try a 4th...BUT he also said whatever i think will be best...i dont wanna just say a standard ported bc thats all i know about...i wanna know about the 4ths a little more in detail

Sub looks to be a good 4th candidate qts above .5 and a decently low fs of 21. Do atleast a 2to1 ratio for efficiency try to stay below a 3to1 unless a narrow bandwidth is desired. Normal sealed resonance of 45-46 lows killer 40-42 SPL depends on car. Tune ported to sealed resonance.

Yeah, most of the newer RF stuff plots well in 4th orders, from what I've messed with.
