Default Hows this box for 2 Z v3 18s

Hows this for a box with 2 18s?
Was thinking about running a rod right thru the middle of the box and use nuts and washers to stablize the port walls?
Also going to be inverting the subs

thoughts?

pics small but...
Gross volume 13.62ft2
Physical port length 14.25 in
Port Volume 1.48ft2
Port Area 135.0 in2
Port Ratio 1:3.75
Net Volume 11.39 ft2
Tunning Freq 36hz

no...not really.
it depends on what you want. typicly smaller enclosures are less efficient and more peaky. however this can work in your favoe

Its for 2 Sundown Zv3 18s, I herd they like smaller box's? That 6cubes is too much airspace in many applications

And goal is just to sound good but get down. Its going into an expedition, am hopping to still be a daily ground pounder

i have a pair of zv3 18s in 12.5 cubes net tuned to 31 with 16 inches per foot for port area. im clamping 4k to the pair and play down to 20hz. however its scary knowing that im 2 cubes larger then recommened and i have bottomed out the sub once. im pretty sure im right at the limit. honestly i would do 10 cubes max for the pair

I have zero problems with people having a shop or other enthusiast do their build. But it's a little disrespectful they take credit for it and/or don't correct people when they assume the owner did the work. Happens all the time.

Interesting. So they do like smaller box's then normal 18s. How do they take the 4k power? Im thinkin about pushing the same eventually. You think the 16 inches per sq ft of port area is justice for the subs? My design is putting me at 12.

If i made the port 7inchs wide that puts me at 10.5 cubes at 37hz and would be 14.6 in per foot for port

Im not really a big fan of 20hz, i like killing it at 35-45hz area would this be tunned too high?

they take huge box with 4k surprisingly well. got stinky once though but was clipping. as for port area no idea what less would do.

"If i made the port 7inchs wide that puts me at 10.5 cubes at 37hz and would be 14.6 in per foot for port"

sounds pretty good. no expert though

if you dont mind me asking what was your port per sq foot?

Ive got 2 port designs right now cant figure out which on i like...

7.5 Width by 18 long making it
port area per foot: 14.93
Net box volume: 11.30
Tuning 35.20 hz

OR

6.5 Width by 18 long
port area per foot: 13.12
net bot volume: 11.15
tunning 33.64 hz

I keep going back and forth.....
