Default Blank slate... Any ideas?

So I plan on starting my first ever build. Sold my w7 so I'm deciding on a new sub(s). Heavily leaning towards a sundown x18. Have a jl 1000/1 to work with. Also have jl 300/4 for mids. I work in construction and have a van full of company tools and their fab shop with everything imaginable. Would love to do a 4th order blowthrough my rear deck because my c.f. rattles like a bitch. Idk if ide **** that up tho. Here's some pics let me know ur thought and any suggestions.

A 4th order for an 18 will not happen in that trunk. I personally own a 300 and there it not near enough room to pull it off. The way the trunk floor narrows in the wheel well wells and the way the rear deck slopes down towards the seat will make it impossible. You only have around 15" in height under the rear deck and 32" in width between the wheel wells. Also you have to think about the small trunk opening height wise. I would do 2 10s in a fourth or a single 12 in a 6th or maybe a single 15 in a fourth. I also had good luck with 4 sa8v2's in a 6th. Best of luck.

I did one in my Sunfire with my old school JL 18W6. A 3:1 ratio. Had to be built in the trunk though. Tiny trunk in a Sunfire too.

The 300 trunk doesn't have enough height to allow for an 18. The rear deck has about 15" to work with. He will have better luck with 2 12's ported, 2 10s 4th order, 4 8s 6th order, single 15 4th maybe. Ive tried alot in a that car and there's not a whole lot that works. Best setup to me for that car is a big pair of 12s ported with alot of power.

Mine didn't either. Had to use part of the spare tire well to fit. Trust me, not easy though. It can be done, but I agree, a smaller sub/subs would be easier from a build standpoint.

yeah I can see where that would help, plus the OP planned power is lower than the rated rms for the X. I would say he could do really well with a pair of SA 12's in a nicely built ported enclosure.

Agreed. That amp should be perfect for them. I believe Taylor clamped one around 1700 watts.

I believe he did, I think it was on good electrical. I know the 300s electrical is not that great. I ended up running 2 batts and a Mechman 320 on mine. Sad thing now is it is back to being stock. I started building the truck in my SIG so i can run MECA s2 this year.
