Default 3 tens in a hatchback

Curious on which would be the best placement for three tens and port.subs foward and port up towards rear of hatch to reflect off hatch? or the usual subs up port rear.I don't know what would give the best sound just looking for solid bass.subs will be around 1200 watts each with a 3500 watt amp.thinking about tuning to 30 give or take.I'm most likely going to have the box designed but would like to have an idea of what would sound best.thanks

How much room are you working with and what subs are you using?

Dimensions are around 40W28L12H might be able to stretch it out only another inch every which way but trying to be able to remove it easily if need be and have room for batteries and amps.so I figure 6-7 cubes before subs and port.subs will either be soundqubes, sundowns, tantrics something of that nature still undecided, but definitely would like around 1200-1500 rms each.amp will most likely be soundqube 3500.

i would go subs up and port back, but make sure you leave enough rear room for proper airflow from port. I would also tune just a bit higher. If it was my build i would look closer to 34hz. Just personal opinion.

Subs up port to the rear is the most common in hatch's and tend to work well. Subs up port up works well sometimes also.

Yeah.everyone seems to like subs up port back.who am i to disagree.l`ll shorten length of box a little to make space so port has room to breath. probaly end up with 6 cubes.as far as tuning goes 34 does seem to be a good number.

Good luck. When I had 2 12" subs in my '87 supra the hatch rattled its ass off. I miss the wind blowing with the targa top off and the sound of the blowoff valve.

Thanks.yes the rare hatch on my '87 is definately the weak link in an otherwise pretty solid car.I filled whatever I could with foam and will deaden what little there is.but I forsee another hatch in the near future.
