Default 4th order sealed resonance, no wt3

First, I've read the 4th order thread...more than once, lol.

Second, Parts Express isn't selling the dats right now, for who knows how long.

Third, the "woofer tester" is about half the money of a imsg. If I was going to get the wt, I might as well get the imsg but I don't want to spend that much right now.

So my questions are, how do I know what to tune my ported chamber to? 8 sa-12's, 1 cuft sealed each, 3 cuft ported. Is the sealed side resonant frequency different in my vehicle compared to a different vehicle with the same encloser?

The sealed side will be the same in any vehicle
You could just wing it with a temp loading wall tuned to like 45hz
Just saying 8 cf for 8 12's seems a bit on the small side but I'm not too sure with the sa's

Sealed resonance won't be affected by your vehicle. It is more about the woofers and volume of sealed enclosure. There is a formula that you can use to find sealed resonance without using software to do it for you but you will need the tsp's from the woofers you are using and the net volume of the enclosure.

I think the formula is.... Fc=Fs×√(Vas/VB)+1

Ok, thank you! I think it's around 46-47hz in 1 cuft. Does that sound about right?

*looking up t/s now*

Sounds close iirc... If you tune to 46 it should theoretically play down to the 20's before it really rolls off hard with the 3:1 ratio you have going.

Correction... @ 1ft³ you will have a sealed resonance of about 44.57hz I believe with the sa 12's. Tune loading wall to about 44 and give it a touch more port to make up the .57hz

I failed to mention that vas is in ft³ in that equation so you have to divide any vas shown as liters by 28.32
