Default port area for aero ports?

I'm in the process of designing an enclosure for 2 Sundown E12's in a trunk build. It will be facing the cabin sealed off and will be my first experience with aeros. Using Torres to get my tuning at 35 (recommended for the e12's) I will need to use 2 4" aeros each 12" long. This gives me a port area of 7.20 per foot. Is this too low of port area? If so any recomendations that will work better for this application would be appreciated.

Shoot for between 8-12" per cube with aeros to keep port velocity in check. For 35hz tuning probably be pretty efficient at tuni g with 10" per cube.

A single 6" @ 14" long should get your tuning to about 35 and reduce your net slightly and give better port area per cube

Yes , 2 4's for 2 e12's in 3.5 cu would work great.

Yeah its only ~3" more port area but in ~3.5 cubes it will be make a decent difference

I will be making the aeros myself out of pvc. Would it be safe to add sweep elbows to make the port longer so I can use a larger diameter?

Elbows really screw with flow in aeros. Just go partially external before elbows.

Depends on your goals. Usable bandwidth or spl. Tuning at 35 with 7" per cube will yield a decent range, 26ish to possibly 60hz. More towards 10" per cube will be louder but won't play as wide

No room for external unfortunately. Only listen with seats down but with seats up there's only about a 1" gap between the sub's and seat. I was hoping sweep Elbows would be OK since there longer and more of a smooth transition than traditional elbows

This will be for bandwidth. After the box is done and I'm happy with the daily aspect I will build a set of ports for SPL which is why I want to go aeros
