Default from 6" to 8"

Ok so I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this buti just want some other opinions.

10.5 or so cubes net, currently has 2 full length 6" aeros. Moves TONS of air a day does a semi decent number with relatively low power. Was originally designed for 3 but had a slight change of plans.

With the 2 6" we have roughly 5 square per cube, with the 8" ones we will have roughly 10 square per cube and tuning is bumped to 33 hz.

Should SPL increase? If so by how much (estimate)? Will the lows still be as pronounced? Will it move more air? This is assuming everything else stays the same.

1 went from 8.50 square inches per sube to 11.9 square inches per cube with a single 6 inch aero and that gave me a all around gain...all tho it it did suffer a little bit on the upper frequencies 55hz and up...but anything below that is game on...and tuning was 33 but could dig down to 26hz...and in your aplication i assume the aero's are facing back? useing the rear gate to load on right?....if you are loading off rear gate will actually lower the tune as well..

no this is for the 2010 Camaro i walled a few weeks ago.

original plan was 3 6" but i thought they were 8.25 outer diamter when they are 9.25 outer diamter so ended up not having enough physical space.

so we went with 2 6" temporarily, tuned @ 25 hz.

going to the 2 8" now.

Yea choose port area over motor force but it never hurts to have both

Just this past weekend I swapped my ports, I originally had 2 octo ports that were equal to a 7.3" aero. 9.29 per cube. absolute best I could get out of it was a 156.91 at 43hz. tuned to around 35-36 and lacked low end

So I swapped to 8" sonotubes with only 1 flared end because the lower flare would hit my motors, tuned to 32 hz, it currently plays 26-52 equally as violent and im burping a 56.8 at 44. Once I start shortening up some ports I should see much better numbers. also my voltage went up .6v at full tilt after the swap

Good for you. Keep on testing and get some better results. ps. tread heading, from 6 to 8 inches, sounds like you are proud of something else
