Default Would this port work?

Whats up guys? I'm desining a new box to go in my hatch and was wondering if there would be any issues running my port this way and if the measurements for length would still be taken from the centerline showed in the pic. I didnt know if the 3/4" piece on the inside end of the box would be neglected since its such a small distance.

Just the overall idea. The image is definitely not to scale. I was looking at the port being about 15.25"x4.5" and around 30" or so if i remember right. Im planning to go for something around 4.8 to 5cubes tuned to 32hz or a little less.

That is correct, although probably negligible. You should also include an end correction factor of approximately half the width of the port because the air mass won't stop abruptly at the termination inside the enclosure. One of the port walls is much longer than the other. As long as you're in the ballpark with tuning you're fine. Virtually every enclosure will change effective tuning slightly once put in a vehicle anyway due to coupling/loading with the environment around it. See picture.

Great. Thanks for the info. So tune the length at the midpoint the way i have it and it should be close to my desired tuning?

Correct. If you don't account for that extra couple of inches of port correction, just know that you effective tuning will be a couple Hertz lower than you planned. You could also shorten the port a little bit to keep tuning up. Note that some enclosure design software will take into account the port end correction, so you wouldn't want to change it from whatever length it suggests (although like I said earlier, a couple inches here and there won't make much of a difference).
