Default Something needs to change

Ok so I just finished putting together a 4th order for my single sa-8 v2. It is .6 sealed, about 1.1 ported with a 4" pvc port tuned to 44. I've got it running off almost no power right now (like literally 80 watts) and I will say, it gets loud as shit. However, it has what sounds like chuffing and then it also plays like 32-45 hz with athority but above or below that, it falls off hard. Would stepping up to a 6" port help either of these issues? Or should I just try sticking a flare on the inside of the box with the 4" port?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A flare would probably help, but if you have the room for the 6" that's the way I would probably go.

I'd first see how it sounds on full power and not 80 watts. Then flare the port.

I think it's huge

I never messed around with my sa8 in a 4th but iirc people normally do .25 sealed .75 ported tuned to like 45 single 4" port would be plenty

Thank you everyone for the ideas. And thank you tymoto for some volume numbers. This is my first time trying a 4th order and I could only find one other example of a 4th for a single SA-8 and the .5 sealed/1.0 ported is what they did and he said it worked for them so that's what I shot for.
