Default Forward vs Rear firing In trunk

I just bought 2 12" DC level 3's from teamsolo on here and I threw one in a box I had lying around and pushed around 600watts to it and it sounds great. I was originally going to build a new box that was around 3.5cuft @32hz and rear fire leaving room on the sides and top for bass to travel into the cabin and simply seal it off and forward fire for competitions. However, would it be a bad idea to just make the box max dims and seal off for a daily driver setup? I've heard that forward firing does not have as much bass response as rear firing. Is this true or can it sound just as food as rear firing except louder on the meter? Also, if anyone has any methods of sealing off the trunk in order to forward fire that would be removeable for when I sold the car. I know about great stuff but how hard is it to remove this stuff afterwards?

If you are willing to seal off your trunk that would be your best bet, and fire forward, but great stuff is a bish to remove!

Best bet for loudness on the meter? I mean I've heard tons of systems but there usually in suvs and such and I don't exactly know what forward firing would sound like. Anyone else know of any other ways to seal off from the trunk?

Thorshammer and peas-something have a couple of loud ass forward firing daily setups. I mean both are over a 150 with a pair of 10s (thor) and a pair of 12s (peas). I'm running a pair of AA Chaos 10s forward firing, and they sound great, and get loud as hell (for what it is and my low 30hz tuning). I just need to get ahold of some duct tape and great stuff to get to work...

I have thought about using that stuff as well. Right now my subs fire forward and are louder that way at the back of the trunk. I want to try and seal them off from the trunk. But, like you not sure about removal of that stuff. I am also looking into doing a 4th order since I hear those get loud as hell in cars. I am just unsure how to design one myself. I am still looking for help on one.

duck tape the wall or rip up a garbage bag so the great stuff never touches the fabric in the trunk

most cars are louder facing forward. The trunk just steals so much even when damped. It will likely play lower faced to the rear, but usually not louder.

I thought depending on tuning and your car it would be louder firing backwards because your giving the waves more room to mature if you can get them back into cab.
