Default So, I guess its time to to design....

I have some subs put together (feel free to check out the sub build here) and the Blazer is pretty much ready (build log so far here)....

The weather will be nice again here (NH) soon enough and I want to go to shows/comps this year... Time to finish what I've started.

Subs are broken in some, still stiffer than I thought they would be, but that's ok! Pulled T/S specs with my DATS, but I feel some are askew from the low output from computer testing coupled with stiff suspension...

Average specs I got are:
Fs - 33hz
Qms - 6.316
Vas - 48.77 L (1.722 cubic feet)
n(0) - .13%
Mms -262.8 grams

Re - 1.72 ohm (DVC in series, ~1 ohm each)
Qes - 1.215

SPL - 83.21 db 1W/1m
SPL - 89.89 db 2.83 Vrms

Cms - .09 mm/N
Piston Diameter - 279.4 mm (11.5 in)
Z(max) - 10.64 ohm
Qts - 1.019 ( I think this is high, probably be .5-.55 in factory specs)
Le - .508 mH at 10kHz
BL - 8.68

I have 2 15's ready to go... Dave at PSi built the softies, I put everything together...

I have a SS Rubicon 2500 for now, subs were built for 1000-1250w rms each. Will run at ~1 ohm before rise.

Will be sealed wall, B pillar. Im looking at 38 inches wide (to stay between the wheel wells) and 32 inches high (false floor already built), I can go 45-50 inches deep, giving me ~35 cubic feet of space to work with.

At first I was going to do standard ported, with a "flared" port, subs mounted inverted on "flared" portion of port. Something like this...

But I have also been thinking 4th order.... Model it up in BBP and it looks good and flat for 1 driver, but if I do 2 drivers the results differ greatly and not for the better... Shows ~3cuft sealed and ~8cuft ported at 54Hz? iirc for 1 driver and ~6cuft sealed and ~16cuft ported at ~70hz iirc for 2 drivers.... Main question here is am I doing something wrong for 2 drivers? Box volume makes sense (doubled for 2) but why the higher tuning and horrible plot? It comes to 2.75:1 ratio, so that seems right...
Secondly, BBP doesn't make it easy to get the port worked out... wants me to have a small area, long port, I would rather have a large area, short port... Thinking 2.75-3:1, tuned to around 50-55hz....Suggestions? Opinions? I'm open to all!

Started throwing around the idea for twin TLines (seperate ones for each driver).... Need ~132 sqin of port area per 15. 32-33hz tuning (qtr wave) would be ~8.75/8.5ft long... seems doable with my working area.... Imagine 2 boxes like this (but bigger, lol), next to each other, standing on end (port at top), then sealed wall paneling...

Also open to other designs? Folded horn, maybe? Kinda want something different, but impressive loudness...

Any help with designs is greatly appreciated! Will pay if necessary...

Thanks in advance!

A qts over 1 is pretty common with stiff suspensions and aluminum coils used on less powerful motors.

So, after playing on paper today, I think I have an idea for a 4th, 4 cft sealed and ~11.5 cft ported, with changeable port (wanna try 45, 50, 55hz ports or change them as needed) 20inx10in, so 200sq of port, just over 17sq per cft (too much?)

This sound pretty good? Can (will) anybody help with a Sketchup? I can draw it out on paper, but have NO Sketchup skillz, lol....
