It assumes the port will be on the front going back into an L. Also you should put in how many walls the port will touch. With nothing enters it thinks it's like a square in the middle of the front face. 1 would be like a slot on the bottom that doesn't stretch across the whole width. 2 is like a slot in the middle the intersects the top and bottom. 3 is a side L. Th that touches top, bottom, and a side.

Rearrange your measurement to trick the program. Instead of your width being 38, make that your depth. You're planning the port to come out on the side right? If port walls touch top, back, and front, it'll be 3 common walls. The program is trying to look at the face the port is coming out of.

It looks like the top of your enclosure is angled. If you plan to run the port along the top I'm not sure how the program will deal with that. You will need to have an angled port in parallel with the top wall of the enclosure in order to keep port area consistent, or learn how to use hornresp to model a tapered port. The other option would be to build the port square and fit it into the enclosure somehow without running into the angled top.

Yes mine is tapered so it gets smaller as you go to the back of it.

My only option is slot across the top or areo ports somehow

I would but I don't have 38" to go deep I can go 27.5 that's the depth of my wall top an bottom.

Only other option is areo ports but I do not know how to calculate those at all

I could possibly fit the square as well but how would I go about that an the placement?

You can angle the slot port and add an "L" leg on the back wall to extend the length.

If you model it as a rectangular box using the average height between the the back and front wall to get the port area/length/tuning you can use that same port length when constructing the angled enclosure, as the volumes will remain consistent between the two. You will need to adjust the port wall lengths to accommodate the longer port length created by the slope however, which can be done using the Pythagorean theorem.

In the attached picture the black lines represent the outside of the enclosure and the red lines represent the port walls. I assume your subs are pointed forward.
