Default Help me determine my port length?

Im going to start my new build soon. Im currently working on the enclosure options. I want to do a single 12 and port through the rear deck. The box I want to use is prefab made for my car and 2.2 cubes net. Once I get the box, I will cut two holes on the top and use aeroports to port through the rear deck. I can afford to go as low as 1.75 after port and displacement (.2), tuned to 34-36. So what size aero do I need and how long do does each need to be?

Could be a kicker could be a sonus faber... The answer would be WAY different depending.

Well I guess if it was a sonus my question would be why isn't this going in a Bently or Ferrari. You can buy a Pagani model already decked out with them I guess... Must be a sweet setup

Maybe SA ultra for now then upgrading in the next few months to something better. Amp is a DD M3b but that doesnt matter. All im trying to figure out is the aeroport size and length if I was to use two ports and port into the cabin.

Two 4" aeroports each 30" long will tune you to about 34Hz, but the issue is this configuration takes up .4 cubes in itself. Then the driver itself, definitely over .1, so that's .5 lost already and that doesn't leave you with much airspace left. Using smaller ports is possible but port air velocity is now very high and so susceptible to chuffing/compression.

Oh, I missed the fact you listed displacement as .2.

Have you considered a passive radiator, assuming there is enough space somewhere on the enclosure to mount one? That might be a better idea...

Hmmm...this is going to be more challenging than I thought. I dont have much room in the trunk of a 5th gen Camaro and my only other option is to build inside the trunk which I would rather not resort to. 30" long tubing isn't going to be possible without bends since my max height is 13".

Believe me, I know - I'm (still) working on an enclosure design for a 3rd gen camaro with roughly the same space, and a single 12 ported just isn't physically possible. Could do it with a PR or two though, but even then, space is still tight. Honestly, a 10 would probably work better.

You could always go sealed...

I took a look at some pics, and see the challenge.
Small opening from trunk and from back seat.
Building in the trunk is the best option, but will be a lot of work, otherwise sealed might be easiest and best use of that limited space.

Good luck with whatever you decide!
