Default box for blow thru.

so im gonna blow thru my truck. found a tonneau cover for it. so ill do it this way. im wanting to put the port in the center of the subs. but i cant seem to get the tuning right. i need 38-40hz tuning.

atomic told me 4.0 cf per sub with 20 sq inches of port 8 inches long. to this must be aeros. but what size? if i do slot its hard to get the tuning anywhere close.

i can do 14 inches high, 40 inches wide, by as much deep as i have to. subs are atomic ap/spl that are going to be a spl comp / daily setup. each sub displaces .15 cf.

this way if i do 40 side i can fit amps behind the seat, bats next to the box in the empty spaces or behind it or whatever. amps going to be a 3250v2. subs get here monday

This is my blowthrough box I designed. 15'' tall x 40'' wide x 28'' deep. The baffles are recessed 5'' and the port is 5'' wide x 13.5'' tall. It comes out to [email protected] I think. Just mess with the dimensions and get very familiar with google sketchup and you can design your own based off this one.

I can model some different stuff. you want only 20 square inches of port tho for an 8 + ft^3 box?
Let me know I have bassbox open right now. here is one possibility

40 wide 14 tall 30 deep 12.5x8 port 12long tunes to 38 hz 8.7 net in box. I would recommend more port area still than that though. But you said 20^2 port and that is already 5x that.

switch port to 12.5x10 19 long tunes to 38 with 8.04 ft^3 net

atomic told me this in an email. so its very broad comment.

daily / comp for APSPL12 is 4.0 cubic ft with 20 square inch port by 8 inch depth
displacement for the sub is 0.15 cf.

the general rule is 12-16^2 port area per ft^3 box volume
