Default Front Loading Horn vs 4th order

I would like for someone to please, in as many ways as possible, to explain to me the difference in a front loading horn(or rear, for that matter) vs a 4th order in their major design differences.

Also, roughly how much space, do you think(feasibly) it'd take to create a front loaded horn enclosure for a single 18" Driver.

Just an off-ball question that I was having a debate about. It's hard arguing with yourself, you know?

Ryan

the 4th order is basically "ported" out the front, whereas the horn is more of a "box inside of a box"; it uses the way the subs load from the front and forces it thru a smaller opening, and opens back up again. there aren't alot of front loading horns designed really

they have inn common that they are sealed behind the cone

Yes and no. A front loading folded horn is a sealed enclosure firing into a horn labyrinth.

A 4th order is a sealed enclosure firing into a seperate, ported, second enclosure.

not necessarily. the front loading horn doesn't have to fire into a horn labryinth. all it has to be is squeezed thru a port smaller than the flare. well the only ones i've ever seen are set up like that. i'm sure they do fire into a traditional loaded horn style setup, but they don't have to

That's as simple as you can explain it, although not very technical.
