Default new to aero ports...

so i have designed a LOT of boxes but only slot port enclosures, i have never designed an aero port but i know nothing really changes accept the rule about port area, with slot port's i know rule of thumb is between 13-16 sqin. of port per every cubic foot of internal volume (give or take, varies per sub) but what is the rule of thumb with aero ports? can one of you box guru's please chime in?

With the 3 aero boxes I've built, between 9 and 11" per cube worked best

All of my boxes ive built over the past 5-6 years have all had aero ports. They are efficient and the 9-11" per cube sound on par. I typically use a single 6" aero for a single 15" box that anywhere from 3.5-4.75 cu/ft, and for a single 12 ive used 2-4" aeros up to 2.75cu/ft. Currently the 2-10" Sundown x's that i built my box for used 2-4" aeros to get tuning to 32hz for a 3.55cu/ft box. Hell i used 2-6" aeros for my single 18" Zv4 box that was 8cu/ft and it was tuned to 30hz and got stupid low. I usually keep tuning for everything i build from 30-32hz. Bc it will slaughter the lowz and still get it ar 38hz or so
...but i dont like high bass, thats just me lol

Also keep in mind that multiple aeros will need slightly more port than single aeros to get the same results. I have 1 12 inch port on my box at 8 cubic feet which is 14 inches per cubic foot. A little on the large side for what is recommended but it works great for me.

The aero port kits on partsexpress.com are great, never had any issue with any that ive bought. They are nice quality and durable. I know the 4" kits are like stupid cheap but the 6" aero kit is 36$ i believe which to me is still not so bad

Single 6" might save you a few bucks.
