Default Best box for two Kicker CVR 12's...?

Im wanting to build a box for two cvr 12's. They are the older ones, with the grey cone and black dust cap if that really matters.

What would be the best to do with these in a trunk? Just a regular slot port?

I was thinking maybe use some pvc pipe for ports and fire it into the rear 6x9 speaker holes.

My amp will do 600 @ 4 ohms and 1500 @ 1 ohm. My subs are dual 4 so i could wire it either way. I guess i could build a smaller box and throw the 1500 at it, does anyone think they could take it in a smaller box? Or i could just be safe and do 600rms.

Also, what size aeros would i want to use for these two subs? It will be a single chamber box, two aeros. Or one slot port. Im kinda leaning towards the aeros just so i can port into the rear deck kinda.

My max dimensions are 16" high, 36" wide, and however deep it needs to be, which shouldnt be real deep. Can someone recommend a good size, port area, aero size, or whatever etc. if i were to throw 1500 at it?

Ill have to throw 600 at it then. Will be a little less than rated for but atleast i should be able to crank it without blowing them right away then.

Anyone know what size aeros i should be using?

Paralleling all coils to your amp will give each sub 750 watts (if the amp truly does 1500) {they'll be fine}

What model number are your CVR 12s ?

All CVRs were not created equal.

Aeroports are not necessary at all in any situation but if it's what you like, then go for it.

aeroports = snuggie = auxiliary capacitors = sham-wow = waveguides = California car duster = transmission line = magnetic health bracelet = other shtt no-one needs.

Well i dont know, theyre only rated at 400 rms, and theyre only cvr's so im not sure how well or how long they could take 750 each? Ill most likely try it either way, might just wire it down to 4 ohms tho. See how it works. The amp does rated, i hear.

I dont know the model number, they are the older ones with the black dust cap and the gray cone. I can get a pic if needed. I think around 05 or 04 model or something?

I only wanted to do aeros to fire them into the rear deck, if i dont do that im going with a slot port.

If they are 03 model subs (black dustcap.. gray cone), they were rated based on 12volt rated amplifiers which means they will handle about twice what they are rated at.. or another way to say it is: your amp is over rated... either way.. your subs will handle the power and get damn loud. (you will be glad you kept them)

Unless you can't get the port length right... That was the problem I ran into. So I just bypassed it... About to go put the rear seats back in now...

Really? I did not know that. I was always told these older model ones are ALOT better than the new ones, and can take alot more abuse.

Ill be using a an AP15001D, its not here yet it should be here tomorrow.

What do you mean? Why couldnt you get it right?

Mine wont be right in the 6x9 holes but a few inches, or more away from it but atleast it will be firing "into" the holes i guess it should help some.

Also, if i have to bend the ports im not doing it. If i can do straight ports and not have to bend, ill do it. Im guessing it wont work how i want it to.

Anyone know what these like to be tuned to? High or low?

That's my opinion based on experience. I dig the 03 CVRs (I have 5 18s.)

<---picture of four of them

Your subs should be quite happy with it.
{if they sound funny trim the gain back a bit.}
