Default Comment on this small box I designed

I'm trying to come up with a small box I can use for a pair of 8's. Sealed seems pretty straight forward. However ported should give me more low end and SPL for a bit more space.

I've been using the online calculators, and downloaded sketchup.

This is roughly 1.2 cuFt @29.5 Hz.

If anyone sees any inherit problems or has any comments about modeling a common chamber enclosure (I've heard a common chamber models as 10-15% larger per extra driver) I'd appreciate some feedback.

I'd raise the tuning up to around 35hz and increase the port area a bit. I'm assuming you need the port exit on the front, but if you don't I'd move it to one of the corners so you don't have that weird 90 degree turn at the port terminus. That being said, it looks great as it sits and should perform well!

Port area is 13 Sq in. Subs are Infinity reference 860w. Spec sheet calls for 2 1/2 in round port, which is about 5 Sq in per sub.

Subs and port will be firing into the cabin of my brz. (back seat folded down kind of thing.)

Subs are Infinity reference 860w, running in parallel at 2ohm. At that impedance my D600.1 is rated @450W.

Playing with Winisd gives a flatter response with this tuning. I will plug in 35 and see what it does, but I'm guessing I'll get a pretty big hump.

I could make the box a bit deeper and open up the port a bit. But it's already bigger than I wanted to be. I'm not sure what the 90 degree turn will do, but with the enclosure visible in the cabin I got to keep the symmetry!

I would love to try that. Happen to know of an online calculator or have any pointers?

Wow, started this two months ago!

Just thought I'd update. The box got a bit shorter and a bit deeper. I had some scrap construction wood laying around. This was supposed to be a quick test box, but since it has taken me this long I'm hoping it works.

I still need to run some wiring in the car, but the box is close to having drivers installed.
