Default sundown x8 bandpass help

from my understanding a 3-1 ratio gives the best output with a wide bandwidth also?

if that is the case what should my ratio's be to build such a box and what should the ported section be tuned to?

have a pair of these x8s and a 2.5k amp wanting to a bandpass in my eclipse with port facing into the cab.just need a little help with ratios and tuning so i can figure out my enclosure dimensions

We cant give you the perfect answer so youll have to do some testing.i would start with around .8 to 1 cube for the sealed side for both & 2.5 for the ported side you need to do a removable port to test different tuning frequencies start around 46hz

so 1 cu sealed and 2.5 ported for both woofers? so that would be pretty much my entire box thats still pretty small so i should be able to work with that.

i had wanted to do a removable port anyhow. but thanks man ill try this and see what happens

Are you doing a 4th order or a series 6th? How do you want it to sound?

From what I've seen using winISD the bigger the ratio the "peakier" it becomes.

I've done a decent amount of bandpass designs. I usually don't go over a 2:1 ported:sealed ratio and have had great success doing 1.5:1 ratio's.

I'm going to see if I can tell you exactly what I'd do.

my goal in this build is to surprise the hell out of people currently it already does being there x8s in a ported box on 2k but id like something more and id also like the woofers to be more protected.

my car is an 08 eclipse so its a hatch but my plan with a bandpass is to have it firing into the back seats and taking up as little trunk space as possible i plan to use a already glassed framing piece to actually use all available space " theres a metal framing section then goes right between the coil over towers"

i listen to everything from decaf to metal im after overall sq with a bit more output id like to dig deeper and play flatter with a wider range as well

Why are you going bandpass? I've got a box design you could try. It's an 8th order originally designed for a w7 but I think the c would work better
